Join us for a Volunteer Information Session, a virtual program series exclusively for Newberry volunteers. These short talks are designed to introduce volunteers to our collection and provide some in depth looks at some of the more exciting and unusual items at the Newberry.
The Newberry is home to more than 600,000 unique maps from around the world, ranging from global maps to small detailed images of homes and neighborhoods. Each map tells a story, not only about the image that it presents, but also about the mapmaker and the political and cultural events that are both included and excluded from the map.
