Join us for the Behind-the-Scenes Speaker Series, a virtual program series exclusively for supporters of the Newberry. These short talks are designed to introduce you to our staff, keep you updated on the latest from the library, and provide you with a behind-the-scenes view of upcoming programs and projects.

In the age of email, social media, and text messaging, digital archives are increasingly prevalent and important. What does that mean for the Newberry’s collection, which includes countless paper archives of writers, artists, journalists, and companies? This is a question that’s top-of-mind for our Modern Manuscripts team – Alison Hinderliter, Lloyd Lewis Curator of Modern Manuscripts and Archives; Catherine Grandgeorge, Manuscripts and Archives Librarian; and Emily Keeler, Digital Archivist. Join us as they share how the Newberry acquires digital archives, processes and cares for them, and provides access to those archives to library users.

Invitation to the Behind-the-Scenes Speaker Series is a perk of membership in the Newberry Associates, President’s Fellows, or Next Chapter. To learn more, visit Annual Support and Membership or contact Vince Firpo, Director of Individual Giving, at firpov@newberry.org.
