Class Description
This course will explore college and university campuses in Chicago through a series of walking tours and readings. We will pay attention to the history, architecture, landscape design, and educational culture of institutions including Columbia College, DePaul University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Loyola University, Northwestern University (Chicago campus), Robert Morris University, Roosevelt University, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, and University of Illinois at Chicago. Participants should be prepared to walk about a mile during each tour.
Diane Dillon is a scholar in residence at the Newberry. She holds a PhD in the History of Art from Yale.

8 Sessions, $300 ($270 for Newberry members, seniors, and students). Learn about becoming a member.

Following the models of other institutions, we want to ensure that our classes are accessible to a wider audience while continuing to support our instructors.
