Seminar Description

Not sure where to begin researching in the Newberry’s vast genealogical collections? Want a firm grounding in genealogical record groups? Need a tour of the Newberry’s genealogical resources and hands–on case examples to teach you how to prep at home so that you can research onsite at the Newberry? Then this class is what you’ve been waiting for! This seminar will focus on the use of census, ethnic, immigration and naturalization, land, map, and vital records in genealogical research.

One session. E – $85, R – $93.50

Marsha Peterson–Maass is an adjunct professor of genealogy and the author of the Fundamentals of Genealogy textbook series. She has led numerous seminars at the Newberry since 2002.

Registration Information

  • Online registration opens at 9 am (CST) on Tuesday, January 7.
  • Phone registration opens at 12 pm (CST) on Wednesday, January 8.

Early registration (E) prices are in effect from January 7 at 9 am through January 24 at 4 pm. Regular registration (R) prices are in effect January 24 at 4 pm through the end of the term.
