A Comedy of Errors: A Theatrical Reading with the Shakespeare Project of Chicago

Register

Join us for a theatrical reading of one of Shakespeare funniest plays, by actors from the beloved Shakespeare Project of Chicago.

This program will be held in-person at the Newberry.

“Am I in earth, in heaven, or in hell?
Sleeping or waking, mad or well-advised?
Known unto these and to myself disguised?
I’ll say as they say, and persever so,
And in this mist at all adventures go.”

In this theatrical reading, professional actors from the Shakespeare Project of Chicago will bring The Comedy of Errors to funny, farcical life in a performance directed by Peter Garino.

Founded in 1993, the Shakespeare Project of Chicago has performed at the Newberry since 2003. This reading will be preceded by an informative talk by a dramaturg and followed by a question-and-answer talkback with the director and cast.
