Class Description

Don Quixote, the main character of Miguel de Cervantes’s novel, is regarded as one of the most popular and influential protagonists in literary history. In this course you, will learn about Miguel de Cervantes novel, the novel’s main characters, and will gain a deeper understanding of the influence of the novel on later works and literary culture as well as its lasting legacy. This course has a dual focus, that is, exploring the novel while learning and practicing vocabulary and language structures in Spanish. The course focuses on developing and improving speaking and listening skills in Spanish, aiming at having participants communicate effectively while learning about Cervantes' masterpiece.

Students are required to have a good command of the Spanish language, especially those receptive skills such as reading and listening. Although class materials are appropriate and suitable for most Spanish language learners, an intermediate level or above of the Spanish language would be best.

Marina Palomo Fernández is a public educator and a native Spanish language instructor. She holds a Masters Degree in Geography and History and has international experience as an educator. She has taught Spanish courses to adults and has been a Spanish curriculum designer for many years.

All virtual classes are recorded and made available to participants registered in the class. These recordings are password-protected and available for up to two weeks after the class ends.
