“Am I in earth, in heaven, or in hell?
Sleeping or waking, mad or well-advised?
Known unto these and to myself disguised?
I’ll say as they say, and persever so,
And in this mist at all adventures go.”

In this theatrical reading, professional actors from the Shakespeare Project of Chicago will bring The Comedy of Errors to life in a performance directed by Peter Garino.

Founded in 1993, the Shakespeare Project of Chicago has performed at the Newberry since 2003. This reading will be preceded by an informative talk by a dramaturg and followed by a question-and-answer session with the director and cast.

This event is cosponsored by the Newberry’s Center for Renaissance Studies. Faculty and graduate students of Center for Renaissance Studies consortium institutions may be eligible to apply for travel funds to attend CRS programs or to do research at the Newberry.
