Accommodations
The Newberry has negotiated discounted rates for its visitors with many hotels. To receive these special rates, simply tell the reservation clerk that you are with the Newberry. This list of accommodations is a convenience to visitors; it does not constitute an endorsement by the Newberry.
Additionally, you may wish to compare lodging options and prices from discount hotel brokers online, such as Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, and Hotwire. Also, visit the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau.
Most of the following hotels are within walking distance of the Newberry. Be sure to confirm the location on a map before making reservations.
Club Quarters
The Newberry is a member of Club Quarters, a private hotel offering reasonably priced accommodations at 75 East Wacker Drive (a 20-minute walk, 8-minute bus ride, or 5-minute cab ride from the Newberry). See the current member rates.
You may book a room by calling the central member services office at (212) 575-0006 or the local hotel at (312) 357-6400. When the reservation clerk asks for the name of your company, just say “The Newberry.” You’ll need to give them your credit card number to make the reservation. You can also book online at Club Quarters, using the password “Newberry.”
Club Quarters offers discounted weekend rates, subject to availability. Call or e-mail to inquire (special weekend rates are not available with online booking).

The Talbott Hotel

Only two blocks from the Newberry, the Talbott is a boutique-style hotel with spacious, newly renovated guest rooms. Free wireless high-speed internet connection in all rooms; complimentary health club access. The Talbott offers a $15 breakfast credit per day and per person from January 2012 until April 15, 2012. Handicapped accessible. Nightly rates (exclusive of tax): $139 from January 1 to April 15, 2012; $199 from April 16 to July 31, 2012; $174 from August 1 to September 30, 2012; and $199 from September 4 to December 31, 2012. These rates are not available the following dates: May 19, June 2, 3, 4 and June 11; September 10, 11, 12; October 9 and 10; November 26, and 27. There are convenient ways to reserve a room. Manilow Suites offers affordable yet luxurious furnished apartments for both short- and long-term stays. Manilow Suites offers fabulous and convenient locations close to shopping and entertainment including 540 N. States Street, One W. Superior Place, and 151 N. Michigan Ave. Everything you would need during your stay from soap, towels, to plating and flatware are available in each of their locations. Security deposits are required; however, background checks may be waived for Newberry guests. Rates vary by location. See the price list for details. Premier Luxury Suites provides fully furnished apartments for both short- and long-term stays (three-night minimum), at three locations just blocks from the Newberry: 1 East Delaware, 1 West Superior, and 545 North Dearborn. Security deposits and background checks are generally waived for Newberry guests.
Newberry nightly rates for 30-day or longer stays (no tax is charged, as guests staying this long are considered temporary residents): studio, $88-$92; convertible, $101; junior one-bedroom, $107; one-bedroom, $115; two-bedroom, $154 ($77 per person, if shared).
For three to 30-day stays: studio, $95; convertible, $106; junior one-bedroom, $111; one-bedroom, $120; two-bedroom, $160 ($80 per person, if shared); all plus tax.
The Whitehall Hotel

Mere blocks from the Newberry, the Whitehall Hotel is an elegant boutique hotel in the European style. The Whitehall has two restaurants on site, Mei’s Corner and Fornetto Mei. Rooms include free wireless internet access and local calls, newspaper, morning coffee or tea in the lobby, and sedan drop-off service within a two-mile radius. The hotel also has a fitness center and business center. The Whitehall offers Newberry guests 10% off their best available rate. Please call the hotel for details.

DeWitt Place Apartments

Located at 900 N. Dewitt Place (the corner of DeWitt and Delaware). All apartments are furnished with a double or queen bed, loveseat, and small kitchen table with chairs. Apartments include two sets of bed and bath linens, basic kitchenware, small TV, phone and answering machine (local calls are free), microwave, coffeemaker, and a window air conditioner. There are coin-operated laundry machines on the premises. Housekeeping is available at $45/visit. Management lives on-site. Approximate Rates: Junior Studios (1 queen bed and a sofa sleeper) $1750, Standard Studios (2 full size beds) $1950. Rates may vary per unit and view (city v. lake) and require a 30-day stay. You will need to fill out an application. Reservations require a $500 deposit; credit cards are not accepted.

This elegant bed-and-breakfast has four guest rooms, all with private bath, and a spacious garden area for eating breakfast or relaxing. It is located three blocks north of the Newberry, near a grocery store and several good restaurants. The nightly rate varies with the season, from $129 and up, plus tax; mention that you are with the Newberry for a reduced rate. Fully furnished apartments may be available for stays of 3 months to a year; rates start at $1,150/month. Not handicapped accessible.
