Seminar Description

After leading Newberry seminars for more than 20 years, Todd Bauer has announced his retirement. This special final seminar will feature legendary Chicago theater artists discussing their favorite plays. Each week, actors, directors, playwrights, critics, and other theater artists will explain their role in bringing plays to life by exploring the play that means the most to them. Such legends of Chicago theater as Mike Nussbaum, Tony award winner Deanna Dunegan, and directors Terry McCabe and Jonathan Wilson will be among the seminar’s featured guests.

Todd Bauer is a playwright and director whose work has been staged in Chicago, Washington D.C., and New York City. He holds an MA in liberal studies from Northwestern University.

  • Phone registration opens at 12 pm (CST) on Wednesday, January 8.

Early registration (E) prices are in effect from January 7 at 9 am through January 24 at 4 pm. Regular registration (R) prices are in effect January 24 at 4 pm through the end of the term.
