About NewberryFest:
NewberryFest will take place on Saturday, July 19, from 10am-4pm and will celebrate all the Newberry has to offer through tours, collection presentations, public programs, informational tables, a mini used book sale, and more.
Roles Available:
Greeters / Tour Registration: Engage guests as they come into the building, assist with wayfinding, and help people learn about all the amazing things the Newberry has to offer.
Exhibition Docents: Be present in the Newberry’s exhibitions, Native Pop! and Winging It, helping engage guests in the exhibit content and sharing additional stories and information. Priority given to existing exhibit docents.
Building Docents: Lead guests on abbreviated versions of our Building Tour. Visitors will learn more about the library’s history and visit our Reading Rooms. Priority given to existing building docents.
Room Attendants: Help manage room capacity, ensure collection materials are safe, and answer questions at the entrance to various rooms.
Bookshop Support: Help answer questions and assist with sales in the Rosenburg Bookshop. Priority given to existing Bookshop volunteers.
Mini Book Sale: Help with sales and stocking of our mini book sale, filled with lots of exciting and unusual used books.
